Deb was born in Denver, Colorado to Mary Ann and Seberuiano Hernandez. She graduated from high school in 1975 and married Burt Cruz on September 23, 1978. Together they raised two daughters.
Deb loved to crochet, read, solve crossword and Sudoku puzzles, attend musicals/plays and watch Hallmark. She was known for her passion for people. With her spunk and wit, she loved to engage with family and friends. She believed that everyone was a friend and wanted to truly hear people. She was a “tiny” lady with a big heart; always listening, celebrating, encouraging, giving hugs or giving her last dollar to help others. She lived for time spent with her grandchildren, always attending their events, celebrating successes and participating in their lives. She could always be caught sporting shirts with her favorite characters; The Minions and The Peanuts gang. She will be remembered for her big smile, amazing kindness and contagious laughter. Deb enjoyed serving at Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach. She was able to donate organs with Live on Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by Paul Hernandez (brother) and parents.
Deb is survived by her husband, Burt Cruz; daughters, Yvette (Chad) Klein and Tonia Hunter; Grandchildren, Bryson Klein, Breann Klein and Skylie Klein; three brothers, John (Kathy) Hernandez, Steve Hernandez, and Christopher (Darlene) Hernandez; sister-in-law, Carol Hernandez; nieces/nephews, Doreen Cruz, Elisa (Filiberto) Yepez, Alexandria (Noah) Bailey, Sasha Hernandez, and Joshua Herandez.
