Mary Hang Dang, 49, passed away on Sunday September 8, 2019 at Bryan East Hospital @ 2:46PM. She fought a courageous battle against cancer for over 2 long years. In her final hours, she was surrounded by a room full of family and loved ones. Father Doty administered last rites to Mary and provided her with spiritual comfort and prayer.
Mary was born on April 27, 1970 in Vietnam to Theu Pham and John Xuan Dang. She moved to the Unites States in 1990 and attended Crete High School. After moving to Lincoln, she graduated from Southeast Community College with an associate’s degree in Business Administration. Mary worked with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Her passion was spending time with her family which also included countless hours entertaining her nephews and nieces. Mary volunteered at fundraiser events held at St. Mary’s and North American Martyrs’ schools where her nephew and nieces attended.
Friends would describe Mary as a loving, warm hearted, caring, energetic person who was generous with her time, talent, and wealth. Her smile was contagious and projected positivity and cheerfulness. Tram Anh Le, Mary’s niece, summarized the impact Mary had on our lives with the following quote from Mary’s favorite music artist Celine Dion, “Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetime”.
Family members include: husband Dominic Vu, father John Xuan Dang, seven sisters, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Theu Pham.

Saturday September 14, 2019:
MASS for MARY will be held at 10:30am followed by the funeral procession and graveside service at Calvary Cemetery (3880 L St).
We invite all family, friends, parishioners, and visitors to attend a LUNCHEON at 1pm in St. Peter’s Catholic Church’s Bishop Vasa Hall (on the lower level) following the graveside service.
