Delmer B. Durham, Jr. 78, of Lincoln passed away Monday, August 20, 2018. Born to Delmer B. Sr, and Rosalie (Ogle) Durham in Lincoln on November 28, 1939. He was raised and continued to live out his entire life in the Capital Beach area. Delmer was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge #210, and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #148. As a young man, Delmer participated in Tom Gartner’s Capital Water Ski & Thrill Show doing water ski tricks and jumping. He was an avid racer and participant, owning several race cars. He enjoyed traveling and camping. Delmer worked as a Diesel Mechanic at Lewis Service Center in Emerald, Ne for many years. Delmer worked as a maintenance engineer and fabricator at Pfizer where he retired after 25 years. For 13 years during retirement, Delmer and his wife became snowbirds and wintered in Florida together.
Family members include wife of 51 years, Sharon; daughter Tina (Duane) Gropp; Grandchildren, Kylie & Kinsli; Brother Richard Durham; Niece, Diana (Scott) Clark; Nephew, Michael Durham; Brothers-in-law & Sisters-in-law, Vernon & Pat Swenson, Earl Swenson, Bill Swenson, Gary Swenson, Joyce & Jim Chubbuck, Ron & Rebela Swenson. Preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service 11:00 Friday (8-24-18) at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee. Family has requested casual attire for the services.
Visitation Thursday (8-23-18) from 2:00-7:30 with family greeting friends from 6:00—7:30 at the funeral home.
