Randy Reeder

June 20, 1958 - June 11, 2017

Randy Howard Reeder, 58, Lincoln, passed away June 11, 2017. Born June 20, 1958 in Grand Island, NE to Eldon Arthur and Delores Patricia (Otto) Reeder. Owner of Reeder’s Sales & Service in Doniphan, NE. Randy previously had worked for Gessford Machine Shop and Friend’s Auto Supply in Hastings, Brown’s Motorworks in Grand Island, VC Howard in Pleasanton, Mid-Continent Race Track in Doniphan, and drove truck hauling cattle for several different owners. Randy built race car motors and raced with Rick and Rod Resh, Phil Kempf, Terry Moffett, Bobby Gregg and the Fegter family.

He married Corrine Frentz in Hastings on September 3, 1977; divorced and remarried on February 4, 1995 at Dresbach’s in Grand Island. They had met at the Lexington Race Track where Cori was helping some friends in the pits. Randy was an EMT for Kearney and Pleasanton Volunteer Fire Dept. He served as Emergency Manager for Doniphan. He attended Central Community College in Grand Island and received his certificate in auto cad design. He enjoyed attending his son’s baseball and basketball games, his grandsons sporting events, racing, fishing, NASCAR, a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Cori; sons, Michael Reeder (Angela Harding), Omaha, Ryan Reeder, Lincoln; grandsons, C. J. Reeder, Colton Harding, granddaughter, Aubreigh, Kearney; nephews, Nathan (Kelli), Jason (Jen), Jeffrey (Melissa) Reeder, Tim Frentz; nieces, Jackie and Lisa Frentz, and many cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday (6-16-17) Autumn Wood Community Center, 5633 North 26th Place, Lincoln, NE 68521.
