Mrs. Lancaster was my kindergarten teacher at Randolph Elementary in the 1979-1980 school year. I have fond memories 42 years later of the film cartridges (high tech for the day) and finger painting smocks made of backwards dress shirts that back then I assumed were her husband’s old shirts-they probably were. Not long ago I came across a black paper profile silhouette of my head that I recall Mrs. Lancaster doing for the students as we sat in front of a light and she traced our outline. Perhaps I still have the clay apple we made, poked our little finger into for the future stem made of a pipe cleaner after it was painted a bright red. I certainly recall sitting at the table in the fall of 1979 with my mom and Mrs. Lancaster as she wrote down the names of some student-friends as my sixth birthday party was being planned. Thank you for the memories, Mrs. Lancaster.
