Roberta, Jeff, Jamie, Robbie,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all and your entire family during this difficult time. I can’t tell you how much the coaches and Lincoln East track will miss Steve’s presence and friendship.
I only knew Steve through NU track, but my deepest sympathy goes to you and your family. He will be missed.
Doesn’t seem real to me that you’re gone Steve. It was a pleasure to work with you the last nine years on the Tower of Power. The stories you shared about your track experiences as an official always made me laugh or made me appreciate your service to the sport. Husker track and field will not be the same without you. Lincoln East throwing will not be the same without you. And working the scoreboard next to you will never be the same. Our sport owes you a debt of gratitude. RIP my friend.
Roberta we are thinking of you and the family with love.

So sorry to hear about Steve
Just so sad that time flies by so fast, and we rush along in our busy worlds; then the news comes like this and your heart breaks.
” Gee – I meant to call him or her”
I know many in the track and sports scene will miss Steve and his innovative ideas
My prayers have been sent to our Lord and Savior for you.
If you ever want to get out of the weather – mi casa – su casa
Love always
Terry Morrison
we are sadden for you lost,
I was shock to hear about the passing of Steve. During the early 80s when I was coaching track at Red Oak, Steve always secured tickets to the Big Eight Indoor Meet for a group of our athletes.
He always took time to show the boys the Devaney facilities, visit with our team, and tell us the premier races and athletes to watch. Steve was proud of his Red Oak roots. I know he will be missed dearly.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Steve’s family and all he touched.

I am so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. We never really spent a lot of time together as I lived in Phoenix and mover moved there when I was 5. uncle Dick and Jo would come out the Az. from time to time and I would be able to catch up on your family. The time I remember most was when you came to Phx. to the Fiesta bowl with Florida and the Huskers and we all when out for dinner. Know I am praying for your peace with the loss of Steve and I know that he and his dad and mom are welcoming him to heaven. keep the family together for comfort and love.. Arlo Morrison
My heart is broken for you all. I’m sorry I didn’t get to meet him but the kids have told me such good things about him. Please allow our family to help in any way we can . May he Rest In Peace until you meet him again in heaven . May God be with you all.
I am experiencing a definite sense of loss. We Husker track officials are very much a family, and Steve was one of the best. I always arrive early for meets, one reason being that I know Steve will be there too and that we’ll have time to visit before the pace gets hectic. We always had plenty of common ground on which to base good conversations, even more so since Dawnta has become a member of the family. She and I don’t really know each other, but I, too, have Wauneta as my home town, so Steve and I always have had that to enter our conversations. As one of the stadium announcers at the Husker meets, Steve let that branch out into the Cornhusker State Games when he asked me to present the awards at the track meet portion. of the games. Needless to say, I have enjoyed every minute of it just as I do with the regular track meets. I have Steve to thank for that. He always saw to my creature comforts since it almost always is so beastly hot at the State Games meet. Can’t say I’m gonna miss him…there’s no “gonna”…I do already. Going to the next meet will never be the same without a stimulating conversation with him. I, too, am, and will forever be, mourning his loss. I’m at the same time extremely grateful that he was a part of my life and that I can relish our moments together in pleasant memories
Very sorry for your loss, Coach Morrison was the kindest person I ever had the pleasure of calling a coach and mentor. Hope the best for all of you.
Dear Roberta and family,
Merry Glea sent me the news of Steve’s passing. I remember talking with Steve about Russian cheering at an Olympics.
Blessings as you celebrate his life,
Mark & Deb and family

I was shocked to receive the email from event staff regarding Steve’s passing. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
To all the members of the Morrison family,
Please accept my deepest condolences. Steve and I were members of the ROCHS class of 1972. He and I worked together at Family Shoe Store on the square in Red Oak. Back then it was one of the “cool” places for high school kids to work!! Because I had worked there longer than Steve I thought it was ok for me to boss him around a little. He was always a good sport about it. We also worked together on The Acorn, the school newspaper. Steve was the sports editor (no surprise there). It was such a joy to watch him compete in sports. He may not always have been the best, although very close, but he had that determination and sense of competitiveness that made him good at whatever he attempted. Your family will be in my prayers. Go Tigers!!
So sorry to hear about Steve. As a former Red Oak tiger and NEUSATF coach, Steve excelled. Growing up in Red Oak, his sports legacy was well known. Steve was a joy to be around. His track kids were all loved and encouraged by him. He will be deeply missed! RIP Steve
