Shirley J. Hatcher

Shirley J. Hatcher, age 85, of Lincoln, NE, passed away May 30, 2018 at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln. Shirley was born January 10, 1933 in Lincoln, Nebraska to the late Lloyd (Shorty) and Gladys (Lovell) Harris. She graduated from College View High School in Lincoln in 1951. Shirley married Stanley James Hatcher on October 22, 1952 in Lincoln. They were blessed with 2 children, Suzanne Johnson of Lincoln and Jeffrey Hatcher of Poulsbo, WA. Shirley worked for Midwest Life Insurance Company and Harris House Movers as a secretary, and at times Shirley filled in as a truck driver for Harris House Movers when needed, and then for the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Visitors Bureau. Shirley was a member of College View Presbyterian Church and Southern Heights Presbyterian Church in Lincoln and Friendly Baptist Church in Branson, MO.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Melba Harris; granddaughter, Stephanie Johnson; and brother and sister in law Kenneth and Helen Hatcher. Shirley is survived by her Husband; Children; 7 grandchildren, Grandsons, Kial Johnson, Benjamin Hatcher, Ethan Hatcher, Aaron Hatcher, Evan Hatcher, Andrew Hatcher, Granddaughter Amy (Hatcher) Taylor; and 5 great grandchildren Joseph Ray Zambalis , Logan Hatcher, Mason Taylor, Ella Hatcher and Helena Hatcher; and nephew, Jerry Hatcher.

Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, 6/2/18 at Southern Heights Presbyterian Church, 5750 S. 40th Street. Cremation/no visitation. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southern Heights Presbyterian Church.
