Shannon Sellers grew up in Birmingham. He joined the Alabama Air National Guard and served about 16 years, being activated to Active Duty during the Korean War, serving in North Carolina. He worked about half of his life at Hayes Aircraft as an aircraft repairman and the other half for the Jefferson County Public Works Dept as a repairman.
He had lots of friends at Pike Road Baptist Church, Central Park Baptist, Union Hill Baptist, Fairfield Highlands Baptist and First Baptist, San Antonio. His hobbies were church, wherever his wives were and coin collecting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Frank and Ima (Vaughn) Sellers; sister, Lillian Powell; three wives Elise (Murphy) Sellers, Dru (Parker) Sellers, and Bobbie (Hinson) Sellers.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Zan and Dian Sellers; daughter and son-in-law, Renae and Bob Odell; nine step-children; five grandchildren, Luke and Ashley Sellers and Bryan, Michael and Elisa Odell; and multiple step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2019, Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Burial will be in the Omaha National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., prior to the service on Monday.
