On May 6, 2019, Sandra “Sandy” K. Pishna went lovingly into the arms of their son Calvin and into our hearts. Sandy was born to Roberta (Allumbaugh) and Donald Green on February 25, 1958 in Wahoo, Nebraska. She grew up with her parents and sisters on their family farm in Swedeberg and graduated from Wahoo High School in 1976. Sandy was swept off of her feet by the love of her life, Donald Pishna, and they married on July 1, 1978 also welcoming his children Jan, Lori and Travis as her own. Soon after marrying, Don and Sandy welcomed two more sons, Donald and Calvin, into their loving family. Sandy took great pride in caring for her family as a homemaker and was “Mom” to many. She loved her dogs and enjoyed being outside with her flowers or camping with her friends in her spare time. Sandy’s heart overflowed with indiscriminate love and we will forever remember her contagious laugh and smile.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Donald Pishna of Eagle, NE. Children Donald (Missi) Pishna of Waverly, NE, Jan (Kevin) Mason of Aurora, NE, Lori (Dale) Pishna of Grand Island, NE, and Travis Pishna of Lincoln, NE. Grandchildren- Clarissa, Dakota, Beaux, Chanse, Zaine, Arthur, Emily, Deegan and Flynn. Great-grandchildren- Kyler, Jaylah, Zaylee and Hazley. Sisters- Sharon and Carolyn.
She is preceded in death by her beloved son Calvin Pishna, her parents, and sister Donna.
Visitation to be held Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm with family present from 5:30pm – 6:30pm at Roper & Sons Waverly Chapel, 10851 North 148th Street, Waverly, NE.
Celebration of Life to be held at 2:00pm Friday, May 10th at Roper & Sons Waverly Chapel.
Memorials may be given to the family.
