Ronald Dean Schmidt, 69, of Eagle, passed away June 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born March 5, 1949 in Beatrice, NE to Edwin and Norma Jean (DeBuhr) Schmidt. On November 20, 1971 he and Beverly Wilken were married in Adams, Ne. He was a former employee of Gateway Shopping Center and Eastmont towers in Lincoln. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Eagle, an avid fast pitch softball player in his younger years and later umpire for numerous sporting events.
Ron is survived by his wife Bev of Eagle, NE; daughter Heather (Ryan) Peery of Eagle, NE; two sons Ronnie Lee (Mandy) of Lincoln, NE and Troy Dean of Eagle, NE; mother Norma Jean of Adams, NE brother James of Boise City, OK; sister Janice (Vince) Goracke of Lincoln, NE; 8 grandchildren, Tataum and Tenley Peery, Alex, Ariana, Avery, Amelie, Athen and Kiefer Schmidt. Brothers in law Laverne (Lou) Wilken of Talmage, NE; Roy Wilken of Table Rock, NE; Duane (Mary) Wilken of Sterling, NE; and sister in law Eileen (Dave) Wentz of Columbus, NE. He is preceded in death by his father, brother Gerald, grandparents Ben and Clara DeBuhr and Johanna Schmidt.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (7-3-18) Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1009 G Street, Eagle, Nebraska with Pastor Scott Porath officiating. Burial in the Eagle Cemetery.
