Robert Gerald Hansen, 69, of Lincoln, NE passed away on February 19, 2020. Bob was born August 10, 1950 to Gerald and Lavone (Sellon) Hansen at Laurel, NE. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church on October 1, 1950 in Coleridge, NE. Bob was confirmed May 1964 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge, NE. Bob grew up on a farm in the Coleridge, Randolph area. He was active in 4-H, and while in high school participated in football, basketball, and track & field. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1968. After graduating high school, Bob enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Ajax (AR-6). After being honorably discharged, Bob moved to Hastings, NE.

After moving to Hastings, NE, Bob began working at U.S. Motors. Bob also attended Central Community College in Hastings, NE, and earned his Associates Degree in Business. After earning his degree, Bob worked his way up to a management position, and worked for U.S. Motors until 1991. During that time he was transferred to Memphis, TN, and St. Louis, MO. In 1991 Bob took a position with Mid-America Electric in Emporia, KS, and worked there until 2006. In 2006 Bob moved to Lincoln, NE, and in 2008 Bob started his own business, ROLI Industrial Sales.

While living in Hasting, NE, Bob met Linda Folkerts in 1977. They were united in marriage on April 22, 1978 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bruning, NE. This union was blessed with two sons, Benjamin and Brian.

Bob was an avid sports fan, especially Husker football and basketball. Bob also enjoyed volunteering his time to help with the elections. Bob was an avid bicyclist, and participated in multiple BRAN’s, BAK’s, and BRAT, along with countless other rides. Bob enjoyed riding with his brother Dan, and son Benjamin. Bob also enjoyed attending his grandchildrens’ sporting events, and school activities, and was proud of all of their accomplishments. Bob was a member of Southwood Lutheran Church, and enjoyed volunteering at services. He was also a member of the Southwood Lutheran Church Thursday Morning Men’s Prayer Group. Bob never met anyone that was a stranger for very long. Bob enjoyed visiting with everyone he met, and made many lifelong friends throughout his life.

Bob is proceeded in death by his parents, Gerald and Lavone Hansen, father-in-law, Leonard Folkerts, step father-in-law, Robert Zacharias, brother-in-law, Alan Folkerts. Bob is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Linda Hansen, children Benjamin and Beth Hansen of Salina, KS and Brian and Amy Hansen of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Addison, Mason, Alex and Evan; sister Carolyn and Ray Bossung; sister Dianne Smith; brother Joe and Gail Hansen; brother Dan and Alice Hansen; and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday (2-24-20) Southwood Lutheran Church, 4301 Wilderness Hills Blvd. Burial in Cheney Cemetery.

Visitation with family present will be from 2-4 pm Sunday at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive (SW corner of 40th & Yankee Hill Rd).

Memorials to the family for future designation.
