Paul Edward Konecky

Paul Edward Konecky, 72, of Lincoln, passed away April 6, 2018. Born November 23, 1945 in Omaha, NE to Edward and Elaine (Drummond) Konecky. Paul was raised on a farm north of Tekamah, NE. After graduating from high school, he entered the Air Force and served 4 years in which he spent 13 months in Korea during the Vietnam War.

After the war he spent one year at a welding school in Norfolk, NE, getting a welding degree. He then attended Western Tech in Sidney, NE getting a degree in auto mechanics.

Paul was united in marriage to Patsy Runquist on January 17, 1976 in Osceola, NE. To this union two children were born, Trish and Trent.

Paul worked for Behlen Manufacturing in Columbus, NE for 36 years. He enjoyed racing remote control cars and in his early years he enjoyed drag racing and won numerous trophies.

Family members include his wife of 42 years, Patsy; daughter, Trish (Jonathan) Russon, Fort Morgan, CO; son, Trent (Jennifer) Konecky, Lincoln; grandchildren, Noella, Tristan, James, Kayden, Michael and Aimee Russon, Lauren, Abigail, and Miles Konecky; aunts, LaVerne Knecht, Blair; Peg Konecky, Council Bluffs, IA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Preceded in death by parents, brother, David, grandparents, aunts and uncles, parents-in-law, sister-in-law, Shirley McLaughlin and brother-in-law, Larry McCall.

Rosary: 6:00 p.m.  Monday (4-9-18) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (4-10-18) St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 9101 South 78th with Father Kenneth Borowiak officiating.

Burial in the Tekamah Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (4-11-18) with Father Kevin Joyce officiating.

Memorials to Simon House, 1853 10th Ave., Columbus, NE 68601

Visitation: 2- 6 p.m. Monday (4-9-18)  with family present during this time prior to rosary at Roper and Sons.
