Neal Cady, Jr.

Neal Cady, Jr., 93, formerly of Lincoln, passed away March 16, 2019 in Maryville, Missouri. Born March 22, 1925, in Scottsville, Kansas, the son of Neal and Anna (Lewis) Cady. Served 23-year military career retiring as Builder Master Chief (CU MC, “SeaBees” Construction Battalion, USN) 1965. Decorated veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars, Cady was member of the American Legion Post #3 and D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans). As Government Civil Servant, Neal Cady, Jr. worked in the Operations Department of the US Veterans Administration/Affairs Lincoln Hospital/Clinic for two-decades, retiring ca. 1990.

Survived by children, Marcia (Bob) Jones, Maryville, Missouri; son Monty (Betty) Cady, Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter Merri (Bob) Hackbarth, Raymond, Nebraska; daughter Sherrie (Patrick) Lund, Antigo, Wisconsin; son Captain Bart “Skip” Cady, Portland, Oregon. Also, sons Gerald E. (Sandra) Logan and Jeffrey E. (Lisa) Logan, daughter Jeris E. Haney, all of Lincoln. Cady’s sisters, Betty Rasmussen, Omaha, and Alice Jewell, Concordia, Kansas; brother Leslie (Deloris) Cady, Ponca City, Oklahoma; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma, grandson David, granddaughters Dana and Margaret.

Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Friday (3/22/2019) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

Burial: 2:30 pm (3/22/2019) with military honors in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa.

Memorials may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation

Visitation with family present from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday (3/21) at Roper and Sons
