Myrlen Ann Shrader of Lincoln passed away peacefully in her home on January 30, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones.

Myrlen Ann (Coppinger) Shrader was born on November 22, 1934 to Thomas and Doris (Ambler) Coppinger in Lincoln. She was baptized into the Kingdom of Christ at Calvary United Brethren.

Myrlen graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954. Early in her professional career, Myrlen worked at First Federal Savings and Loan. She went on to work for Krueger Construction for many years where she was an active member of Women in Construction (WIC). In 1975, Myrlen was instrumental in the founding the family sanitation business, Shrader Refuse Service, contributing in a major role to business operations until her retirement in 1998.

Myrlen married Duane E. Shrader on December 17, 1955. The couple was blessed with five sons and took much pride and joy in their many activities. Myrlen enjoyed planting flowers and gardening. She also loved decorating their home with beautiful flowers and tablescapes all throughout the year, but especially for the holidays. Myrlen was an active member of Indian Hills Community Church where she volunteered her time on many committees and was a hostess and decorator for many Church events. She was a faithful servant to those in need, always putting others before herself.

Myrlen is survived by her husband, Duane E. Shrader; son, David (Sherri) Shrader of West Melbourne, FL; son, Daniel (Jen) Shrader of Waverly, NE; son, Michael (Lanna) Shrader of Eagle, NE; son, Mark (Pam) Shrader of Papillion, NE; son, Daren Shrader of Placida, FL; 9 grandchildren, Briana, Dana, Katie, Jenni, Lucrecia, Molly, Sam, Guillermo, and Nathan; 8 great-grandchildren, McKinley, Ella, Sophia, James, Ava, Laikynn, Teagan, and Austyn Blu; sister, Joyce Coppinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Doris Coppinger; parents-in-law, Wayne and Juanita Shrader.

Public Viewing will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons of South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Indian Hills Community Church, 1000 South 84th Street, with luncheon to follow.

Memorials may be directed to Indian Hills Community Church.
