Lloyd M. Mueller

Lloyd Marvin Mueller, 83, of Lincoln, passed away August 21, 2020. He was born June 8, 1937 on a farm in Oconee, NE (Platte County) to Edward O. and Delila (Miller) Mueller.

Lloyd went to District 25 grade school in Oconee, Monroe High School, and graduated from Norfolk Junior College, Norfolk, NE. On June 28, 1956 he enlisted in the US Army, serving with the 35th Quartermaster (Mule Pack Company) Fort Carson, CO, Redstone Arsenal Missile Base, Huntsville, AL and Fort Campbell, KY. He was Honorable discharged June 26, 1959. Married Doris Gayle Willard in 1958, to this union a child, Kathleen Ann was born. After the untimely death of Doris and stillborn child, Lloyd remarried and to this union there were 4 more children, Sandi, Darla, Collette and Eddie.

Lloyd worked at O’Shea Tractor Company and American Stores Packing Company in Lincoln, becoming Secretary Treasurer and President Business Agent for Local 106 of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union. Leaving there to become owner of Lloyd’s Beaver Lounge in Beaver Crossing, NE. He operated the first Keno games in Seward County, was visited by former Oakland Raider Coach John Madden who later named Beaver Crossing as one of the top 10 places he has stopped at. Also, won the Ugliest Bartender award by raising the most money for Multiple Sclerosis. Lloyd was made an honorable member of the Nebraska Great Navy, by Gov. J. James Exon, lifetime member of the United Church of Christ and Executive board member of the Lincoln Central Labor Union.

During his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, camping, traveling and most of all taking care of his yard and garden.

Family members include his son Lloyd (Lori) Mueller, Cortland; daughters Kathleen (Tim) Bader, Valentine, Sandi (Greg) Taylor, Omaha, Darla (Tim) Kallhoff, Lincoln, Collette (Kelly) Lokken, Wilber; 15 grandchildren Brett, Valerie, Bethany, Quentin, Jessica, Mitchell, Matthew, Marcus, Sydney, Michaela, Victoria, Thomas, Max, Skyler, Madilyn and seven great grandchildren; brothers Willie (Marlene) Mueller, Gayle (Dee) Mueller, and Larry (Marcia) Mueller. Preceded in death by his parents, first wife Doris Gayle Willard, infant daughter and brother Donald.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (8-25-20) Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel.

Memorials to the family for future designation.
