Judith “Judy” A. Rea

March 22, 1945 - November 6, 2019

Judith “Judy” A. Rea

Judith “Judy” A. Rea, 74, of Lincoln, passed away November 6, 2019. Judy was born in York NE. in 1945 and spent a wonderful childhood on a farm by McCool Junction with her loving parents and two sisters.  After graduating from McCool Junction High School, she studied at Peru State College. It was during this time that she met her loving husband of 54 years on a “fateful” blind date. While a move to Lincoln to work for the Telephone Company was next, Marriage was not far away. Shortly after the wedding her husband is told to leave for Vietnam. Upon his return, they begin a loving and loyal 54 years of life together.  She begins a business with her twin sister called The Pillow Parlor.  She previously co-owned with her sister Bagels & Joe where she loved everyday getting to know her loyal customers. She spends many years making popcorn and candy for Colby Ridge. Judy will always be remembered as an Amazing cook that could make a gourmet meal out of anything. She will be remembered as a talented seamstress that enjoyed creating pillows, blankets and quilts for friends and family.  Incredible sister, wife, mother, grandmother will only begin to describe the feelings that her family has for her. We have all been blessed with the time that was spent with her and will cherish every moment and memory.

Judy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Nebraskaland Treasure Hunters, Extension Club and Red Hat Society.

Family members include her husband Lonald; sons Vincent (Jennifer) Rea and Elliot (Rebecca) Rea; granddaughters Alexa, Emily and Gina Rea, all of Lincoln; twin sister Joyce (Robert) Hakenewerth, Lincoln and sister Mary F. Mangham, Oxnard, CA. Preceded in death by her parents Franklin and Laura “Lucille” Norquest and brother Franklin Norquest.
