John Schellpeper

John M. “Pepper” Schellpeper, 72, of Lincoln, passed away on July 22, 2020. He was born in Lincoln on August 31, 1947 to Marvin and Mary Ellen (Tinning) Schellpeper. John served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and worked as a front counter salesman for a plumbing supplier.

Pepper lived a full rich life and made many lifelong friends along the way.  His love of music took him on the road for a brief time with one of his favorite rock bands.  When he returned to Lincoln he continued that love of music at the Zoo Bar. He was a mainstay there and the groups he followed remained his friends for life.

His work career began with Kosher Supply, continued with Western Supply and when they also closed, he spent over 25 years at Paramount Supply where he became part of their family.   When he retired, he had a favorite Cafe where he went everyday for lunch and made life long friends there while discussing the state of the world, Big Red, and all the latest sports news.  He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.

John is survived by his sister Susan (Jim) Bombard, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by his parents.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Roper and Sons 4300 ‘O’ St. The visitation will be held 2 hours prior.
