Jamie Elizabeth Spratlen

May 18, 1998 - June 16, 2020

Jamie Elizabeth Spratlen

Jamie Elizabeth Spratlen 22, of Lincoln died June 16th, 2020 born May 18th 1998.  The beloved daughter of Mona and Steve Spratlen.

Survivors: Parents; Steve and Mona Spratlen; Sisters; Holly (Gunther) Baker, Lindsey (Joshua) Hruby, Brother; Joshua Spratlen, Nephews Alex Cleland & Rhett Baker, Nieces; Rory Baker & Evelyn Hruby, and cherished pets, Mandy & Bandit (dogs) Bumper & Seis (horses).

After graduating from Lincoln Southeast High School in 2016 she pursued her love for animals and enrolled in Veterinary technician school, NTCA in Curtis, NE.  She had aspirations to become a veterinarian.  Jamie excelled in school, was on the Dean’s list and Honor Roll.  Jamie had one year left towards her degree, and was looking forward to the next step in her journey.

Jamie’s love for animals began at a young age when she picked out her puppy from the family litter, and their life long bond, began.  Jamie began training Mandy for dog agility and worked for hours in the back yard making her own agility course for her to practice.  Jamie also loved volleyball, she played on several teams until ultimately, her love of horses took over.  She leased her first horse, before rescuing Bumper. Bumper became her best friend and, in many cases, her therapy.   She convinced her Mom to acquire almost all the animals she came in contact with.

Jamie loved deeply and frequently told those closest to her how much she cared for them.  She would be the first person to crack a joke or come back with some witty comeback.  She always tried to find the good in people and wanted the world to be a better place.

Jamie’s family would like to thank you for your support and prayers during this difficult time.  We ask that you remember her often, speak of her frequently, and let the ones you love, know often.
