Jacquelyn L. (Jackie) Peterson

Jacquelyn L. (Jackie) Peterson was born in Lincoln Nebraska on October 6. 1933 to James D. and Louesa (Morey) Knore. She was a lifelong Lincolnite, and spent most of her early years living in College View. Jackie graduated from Lincoln High in 1951, and attended the University of Nebraska for three years. While working at Long’s Bookstore she then met her soon to be husband Charles at his parent’s restaurant the M & M Café, which was located on Q Street between Ninth and Tenth streets. They were joined in holy matrimony on November 20, 1955 in Lincoln and spent their honeymoon in Chicago. Jackie was a stay at home mom until all of her kids were in school and then she became the longtime manager of Fashions at Large in the Meadow Lane shopping center. Jackie was an avid bridge player and played in the same bridge group for over 50 years.

Jackie is survived by her sons Douglas (Valerie) and Duane (Kelly), daughter Lorna (Scott) Ellinger, two sisters-in-law Maxine Peterson and Elizabeth Payne. Many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Charles and her parents James and Louesa Knore.

All memorials to the Capital Humane Society.

Graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, 84th & Adams at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 with O.E.S. service performed by Capitol Chapter #320.

A visitation with the family will follow from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive (SW corner of 40th & Yankee Hill Rd).
