It has been such a privilege and a blessing to have met the whole Burton family and become a member by adoption. Especially coming from another country and having experienced many racist encounters, Mom and Dad Burton’s acceptance (as well as the acceptance of their wonderful children) has been like living in heaven to me. Mom Esther prayed a lot for me and I’ll always be thankful for that. Mary and Joy have been very close to me which has been a great support and encouragement through many difficult times. Our hope is that the Lord will turn our grief to joy (John 16:20) when we will be reunited at the resurrection to live with our loved ones again and now for eternity!

Condolences on the loss of your family matriarch. It was 46 years ago that our family met yours, and now there are countless memories from the ensuing years. My working in the office with your dad, all of my siblings being taught by your mom, some of us attending academy/college together, working with Mary/Joy and observing Wilma/Doug from my perch in the conference office, watching some of the grandkids grow up. Time flies, and we’re never truly prepared for it to end. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. Hugs.
