Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Jean Rentfro, 21, Lincoln, passed away November 5, 2018. Born July 18, 1997 in Lincoln, NE the daughter of Robert and Ann (Burling) Rentfro. Elizabeth was a graduate of Lincoln East High School and was a junior at the University of Nebraska Lincoln studying Journalism with a minor in English where she was also a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. Liz completed NOLS Absaroka Backpacking Wilderness Education Program this summer which was a highlight of her life.
Elizabeth was a three-time state tennis medalist, and loved all water sports especially wake-boarding. She was passionate about dog rescuing including her dogs Fritz, Babe, and Chesapeake. She was an avid reader and outdoor enthusiast and a lover of music. One of her favorite places in the world was Annapolis, Maryland where she spent 3 years of her life making fond memories and swimming in the Chesapeake Bay. Liz had many friends and was known by all as a kind and compassionate person with a wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by her parents Robert ‘Rocky’ and Ann Rentfro; sister Kathryn Ann Rentfro and grandparents Robert and Jean Rentfro, Sharon Burling and Pat Burling; many aunts and uncles including Mike and Deb Burling and Mac and Kathleen Dahill; special cousins Jeanne McBride, Jake and Rhett Burling. Preceded in death by her grandfather Vern Burling.
