Douglas A. Detmer

Douglas A. Detmer, of Lincoln, passed away February 15, 2021. He was born in Lincoln, NE to Jake Detmer and Gladys Belle King. Doug retired from Goodyear. He was a United States Marine veteran, member of the Bennet American Legion Post #280, and United Rubber Workers Union.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Harlan Schreurs, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Doug is survived by his wife, Sharon of Lincoln; daughters, Nicole (Nickolas) Effle of Lincoln, and Leanne (Robert) Wilson of Waverly; 9 grandchildren, Alexis Effle-Thomas, Kaylie Wilson, Jaxson Effle, Evan Detmer, Robbie Wilson, Caleb DeGarmo, Tiszon Effle, Dylan Wilson, and Laela DeGarmo; sister, Seanne Staley of California; and nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel (3950 Hohensee Dr.) from 12 – 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel. Livestreaming will be available ten minutes prior to the service start time at roperandsons.com.

Following the CDC COVID-19 guidelines, we will comply with social distancing seating and limited gathering sizes for all visitations and services. Masks are required and we respectfully ask for your understanding and adherence to these guidelines.
