Delbert Bollinger, 94, Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Delbert was born, and grew up in Tolstoy, South Dakota, a German community, to German parents, Jake and Lydia (Bieber) Bollinger, on March 8, 1924. He was a loyal member of the College View Seventh-day Adventist Church.
After Delbert served in the United States Army, he and his cherished wife, Wilma, began their married lives together farming in Tolstoy. During the winters, they moved to Lincoln, NE so their two sons could attend College View Academy. There Delbert worked as a carpenter, helping construct many of the current Union College buildings and the College View Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma, and his sister, Delphia. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law Gary and Kathy Bollinger of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Patty Bollinger of Lincoln; grandson and wife Benji and Jennifer Bollinger of Snoqualmie, WA; grandson and wife Reggie and Katja Bollinger of Lincoln; grandson and wife Roddy and Stephanie Bollinger of Sedalia, MO; five great-grandchildren Eli, Kiah, Braden, Ellie and Juniper; and many loved nieces and nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at College View Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4801 Prescott Ave. Lincoln, NE.
Memorials may be given to the church or Union College.
