Dale Allan Young, age 92, passed away May 2, 2021 in Lincoln, NE. He was born April 22, 1929 in Durango, CO. He grew up in Allison, CO and would spend the week boarded in Durango while attending high school. He attended Colorado A&M, now called Colorado State University, where he met his future wife, Mary Ann Honebein. They were married June 10, 1951 and remained a loving couple until his death, 5 weeks short of 70 years together. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, three children Ronald Young, Karen Page, and Robert Young, as well as 6 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren. He was a supervisor at Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM from 1952 until his retirement in 1989. In 1978, they moved to Bosque Farms, south of Albuquerque. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a sportsman who enjoyed hiking and backpacking in the mountains with the family. He and Mary Ann enjoyed the “Enchanted Twirlers” square dancing club where they made many friends and participated in numerous square dance festivals in different cities. He loved playing cards and they belonged to several pinochle and pitch groups. After retirement he and Mary Ann enjoyed life traveling and went on many treks in their camping trailer. In 1995, they moved to Greeley, CO to be closer to their numerous relatives in the area. They also enjoyed several cruises that included the Caribbean and Alaska. In July 2020, they moved to Savannah Pines Retirement Community in Lincoln, NE to be closer to their daughter Karen. He was a loving and caring Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
