Charles L. “Chuck” Straub, 90, Lincoln, passed away January 9, 2018. Born February 19, 1927 in Newport, KY to Charles and Mary (Reagan) Straub. WWII, Korea, Vietnam, U.S. Army and U. S. Air Force Veteran. Ret. 1992, security officer at Opryland. Chuck was a member of the V.F.W. #131, American Legion Post #3, life member of D.A.V. #7, T.R.E.A. and Critchetts Lowrey Organ Center. Chuck was a greeter at the Lincoln Berean Church for 13 years until 2013. He enjoyed golfing and visiting friends and family.
Family members include his wife, Mildred “Midge”; daughters, Diana (Richard “Dick”) Adkison, Gilliam, MO and Donna Straub, Slater, MO; step-son, Roger Rockenbach, Denver, CO; step-daughter, Cindy Fletcher (Mark Bryan) Austin, TX; 4 grandchildren, James S. (Kari) Fletcher, Jeremy Fletcher, Brent Adkison, Brandy (Amanda) Adkison; 3 great-grandchildren, Mya Bishop, Ella Fletcher and Jadee Adkison; sister-in-law, Ruth Miller. Preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Elmer Hater.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (1-15-18) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park with military honors.
