Charles “Chuck” Ansley Piper
Charles Ansley Piper “Chuck” passed away on May 10, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born in Omaha to Dr. Lawrence and Cathryn Piper. His career started with Mutual of Omaha but soon transition into a copywriter position with Ayers & Associates in Lincoln. Chuck worked with many clients during his time at Ayers and was surrounded by some of his best friends. He always had a hand in teaching and was excited to start a career with the University of Nebraska, serving as a Gannett Distinguished professor in the college of journalism. After a rewarding career with the university where he earned his master’s degree, he joined Bailey Lauerman advertising. There he designed research methodology for his many clients. Chuck’s contributions to our city are many and were his great joy. He loved his family, his career, great food, model trains and the rewarding relationships he made during his long and generous career.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, his children Christopher and Patrick, their wives Tracy and Laura and their children Kathryn, Nell, Alec, Gabe, and Sing. Chuck was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, May 14, 2021 at First Plymouth Congregational Church, 2000 D St. Cremation/ No visitation.
