Burdette E. Bennett, 88, of Lincoln, passed away September 30, 2014. Born March 10, 1926 in rural Alvo, NE to H. Earl and Alpha R. (Sutherland) Bennett.
Retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 33+ years. Member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. Taught Sunday School for the handicapped through Eastland Ministries. Loved to square dance and go camping.
Family members include his wife, Arlene; daughter, Tina (Bryan) Schwahn; son, Joe; step-daughter, Sandra (Dennis) Chmelka; step-son, Don (Denise) Rogers; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by son and daughter-in-law, John and Nancy Bennett; sister, Donna Reed; brothers, Dee and Orland Bennett and infant brother, Randall.
Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m. Friday (10-3-14) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ St. with Pastor Dennis Hanneman officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Thursday with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Roper and Sons.
