Ben L. McCown

Benjamin Lee McCown, 41, passed away on September 4th, 2019. Ben was born January 30, 1978 in Lincoln to Gary and Mary McCown.  He graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1996 where he was a member of the basketball and tennis teams. Graduated from the University of Nebraska with Bachelor’s degree in Construction Project Management. Member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Director of Construction for Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.  Ben was a member of the Kansas City Health and Engineers and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.

Ben will always be remembered for his larger than life personality, love of his three sons, generous spirit, and incredible work ethic.  He loved spending time with family above all else, and attending his son’s soccer games.  Ben so looked forward to family vacations and having everyone together.  He loved his Huskers, Royals baseball, and golfing; he was looking forward to attending a Husker game this fall. Ben’s infectious laugh and grin filled a room as soon as he walked in.  We have always been so proud of you, Ben, and love you with all our hearts.
