I am so sorry to hear of your moms passing. My parents Woody and Vivian (Biz) Walters lived next door at Thomas Lake for many years. I have many fond memories of your parents seeing them visiting my mom and dad while living in Yankton SD. My husband Chuck’s parents Chuck and Sally Peterson had a summer place for a few years in the same circle drive before they moved to California. Our two oldest children loved coming to the lake and loved swimming and learning how to water ski there. Mom and dad had their first summer cabin across the lake which they purchased when I was in the 8th grade in 1961. After Chuck and I married in 1966 they sold the cabin and purchased their double wide mobile next to your mom and dads place. Chuck’s parents had a small cabin next to my folks across the lake too and they decided to purchase a mobile too and move there summer place up on the hill to in the circle across from your folks and mine. In fact when a new family bought the cabin next door in 1963 I discovered they had a son near my age and in 1966 he became my hubby. We just celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary this summer. So many families up at the lake I knew. So many more happy stories of happy times spent at the lake. In 1983 Chuck and I moved to Yuma AZ. The winter of 1984 my folks started their new adventure spending winters in Yuma and summers at Thomas lake. After 4 years they decided to make Yuma their permanent residence and sold their lake home. I was shocked but very happy. They still came back to Lincoln in the summer visiting friends and spending most of summers up in Minnesota with my brother and his second home in Duluth then heading back to Yuma again for 9 months of the year. Mom passed in 2001 and my dad in 2003. In November 2019 Chuck and I decided we wanted an adventure and moved back to Lincoln. We love being back. We bought a home and plan on spending a few weeks each winter heading back to Yuma. Our oldest son lives there with family and our youngest son in LA with his family. We will spend time with them getting our grandsons fix. Our daughter lives in Kentucky so now living closer to her and her family. Well I’ve taken enough of you time but just wanted you to know how fond I was of your parents and the friendship our parents had for many years. I can be reached anytime at 928-210-4392. We still have our AZ number. You take care. Cathy Walters Peterson
