Paul D. Kern D.D.S., 94, died October 29, 2015. He was born July 27, 1921, at Wilsonville, to Rev. Lyman and Leona Kern. Paul married Eileen L. Hunt in 1943.
He graduated from UNMC College of Dentistry in 1944, and was a World War II veteran. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lincoln, Paul was also a life member of the Nebraska and National Dental Associations, U of N Alumni Association, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and past president of Toastmasters.
Paul, beloved by his family, friends, colleagues and patients, lived a life dedicated to the service of God and humanity. He was a man who exemplified what was put into words by William Wordsworth: “The best portion of a good man’s life, his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love”.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Kern; daughter, LeAnn Kern; son, Doug Kern; nieces and cousins.
Memorial service: 2:30 Thursday, November 5 at Trinity UMC, 7130 Kentwell Ln. No visitation.
