Vincent T. Goeres, 89, Lincoln, died Wednesday, November 22, 2017. He was born September 8, 1928 in Osmond, NE to Nick and Gertrude (Scharfen) Goeres. He was a member of the Unitarian Church of Lincoln and the Lincoln Sailing Club. He was a volunteer at the Nebraska State Historical Society, avid cyclist, loved theatre, UNL ROTC, Korean War Army veteran. Vincent was also an aviation history enthusiast, and had written a book for the Nebraska State Historical Society called “Wings Over Nebraska.”
Survivors include daughter, Julie Goeres, son, Michael Goeres both of Lincoln; grandson, Brian Goeres-Latenser, Omaha; step-sister, Mary Jean “Mickey” Winter, Lincoln; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary, and brother, Jerry.
Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Unitarian Church of Lincoln, 6300 A St., Lincoln, NE.
Cremation, no visitation.
Memorials may be given to the Lincoln Community Playhouse or the Great Plains Trails Network.
