Vera Marie Wendelin, 83, passed away peacefully on July 15th, 2018 at the Martin House. She was born on December 1, 1934 one of nine children born to James and Mary Keeney. A lifelong Lincolnite, she graduated from Lincoln High and maintained many of those friendships until her passing. Charles Wendelin (Wendelin Bakery) took her as his wife on Aug. 24th 1957. She was an active member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church and in the Does. Fun loving and having and outgoing personality she enjoyed time at her family’s cabin at Lake Waconda and working in sales at The Fort Western.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Charles, sister Janet and Mary Lou, and brothers Jim, Don, and Roy. She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Mrs. Gregg Netz) Lincoln and son Richard Wendelin of Scottsdale, AZ. Sister Maxine (Mrs. Dale Osterman) Mt. Laurel, NJ and brothers Vernon (Beaver Crossing, NE) and Bob (Seattle, WA)
A celebration of Vera’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20th at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive (SW corner of 40th and Yankee Hill).
Closed casket. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
