Timothy R. Montague

Private Second Class Timothy Romeo Montague, Age 20, of Fort Wheeler Hawaii, joined his grandpa, ”Bubba” in heaven on November 3rd, 2018.

Tim was born August 19th 1998 to BJ and Shaundra Montague in Kearney Nebraska. During his 2nd grade year the family moved to Lincoln, NE. where he attended Holmes Elementary, Lefler Middle School, and is a 2016 graduate of Lincoln East High School. During high school, Tim was an avid volunteer at Christ’s Place Church and at the Lincoln Community Playhouse where he was named 2014 Volunteer of the Year alongside Talia Rose. He was proud to be involved in the Air Force JROTC program at Lincoln Northeast during his senior year in school. Shortly after graduation, Tim was sworn into the Army and at the age of 17, he left for Fort Jackson South Carolina for Basic Training. From there, he transferred to Fort Eustis, Virginia for AIT where he trained for his career as an Apache Engine Mechanic. He spent the last 1 ½ years stationed at Fort Wheeler, Hawaii.

Tim had a giant love of life. He cared unendingly about all of the people he surrounded himself with. He was a passionate Husker fan, loved his eagle collection, motorcycles, singing, his playhouse family, and all of his relatives. He was lovingly referred to as “Bubba” and “TD” by his family and “Monte” by the Delta Troop, 2nd Squadron 6th Cavalry Regiment.

Tim is survived by his parents, BJ and Shaundra Montague of Lincoln, NE. Siblings: Shanissa McBride of Lincoln, Nicole (Shane) Trofholz of Kearney, Coralea Montague and Christian Montague of Lincoln, Keidan McCullough Montague of Northglenn, Co. Nephew Samuel Trofholz of Kearney. Grandparents: Dan & Jan Ericson of Lincoln, Marilyn Henderson of Papillion, Bill & Patty Montague of Waverly. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Tim was preceded in death by Grandfather “Bubba” Dr. Gerald Henderson.

Visitation with family present from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Friday at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3450 Hohensee Drive (40th & Yankee Hill Rd.)

Funeral service will on Saturday, Nov 17th at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Place Church, 1111 Old Cheney Road, Lincoln, NE. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be deposited at any Liberty First Credit Union locations for Pvt. Timothy Montague, with funds benefiting the Lincoln Community Playhouse.
