Raymond J. Pumel, 59, of Martell, NE passed away on May 1, 2018. Born July 19, 1958 to Glen and Barbara (Carter) Pumel in Carrolton, Missouri. Worked as a corrections officer for the State of NE and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Raymond was member of Southwood Lutheran Church, Paralyzed Veterans of America and the American and Nebraska Trapshooting Assoc. He was an All-American Wheelchair Trapshooter. He never let his wheelchair slow him down, he always found a way to participate in sports and activities.
Survived by his wife Rita Pumel; sons, Raymond Michael Pumel (Jodi Fountain), DeLos Edward Pumel; grandchildren, Rosebud, LaRaya, Raymond, Jade, Joseph, Rebbecca, Heath, Emma, Kyle, and Geysy; 3 great grandchildren, Edward, Faith, Hope; sister, Debbie Saunders; brothers, Richard Pumel, Wayne Pumel, Glen Dwight Pumel. Preceded in death by parents, grandparents, parents in law, 2 sisters, Robin and Donna.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Monday (5-7-18) at Southwood Lutheran Church, 4301 Wilderness Hills Blvd., Lincoln, NE US 68516. Burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hallam, NE.
Visitation with family greeting friends 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday (5-6-18) at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr. Lincoln, NE.
