Phyllis Oberle

August 28, 1935 - October 13, 2017

Phyllis Oberle

Phyllis Oberle, 82, formerly of Eagle, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017. She was born August 28, 1935 to Dale and Minnie Stall. She met the love of her life, Dean, growing up in Eagle. She graduated from Eagle High School in 1953. She and Dean would write each other often while he was stationed afar in the Marines, and she married Dean after he was discharged.

They lived in Lincoln for several years. She held a variety of occupations during her life: homemaker, key operator at the Lincoln Gas Company, sales clerk at Montgomery Wards, and accountant at Mapes Industries. They moved back home to their Eagle farm in 1987, and Phyllis loved being the bank teller at Eagle State Bank.

Phyllis was known for her green thumb. She was always planting and maintaining her beautiful flower gardens. Many will remember how much she enjoyed decorating for holidays, baking desserts, shopping and family gatherings. Her outfits would always match the season or holiday. She and Dean got to spend more than 60 wonderful years married.

She is survived by her son David Oberle (Jenny) of Eagle, daughter Carla Kuhn (Bob) of Kansas City, daughter Tammy Boehmer (Greg) of Eagle, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, in-laws Frances Stall, Dale Oberle (Lila) and Judy Holtgrewe (Ron). She is preceded in death by her husband Dean, parents, brothers Valjean “Shorty” and Vernon “Dewey” Stall.

Celebration of Life: 1:00 pm Friday, October 20, 2017, at Roper & Sons Funeral Chapel, 4300 O St, Lincoln.

Family will greet friends from 5:30-7:30 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2017, also at Roper and Sons Funeral Home.

A dual interment will take place of both Dean and Phyllis, at 3:30 p.m. in the Eagle Cemetery, Eagle, NE.

No viewing/cremation services.
