Ojars Otto Rutmanis, 78, of Lincoln, passed away August 8, 2017. He was born on March 9, 1939 in Gailavas, Latvia to Aleksandris Rutmanis and Hermine (Jaunzems) Rutmanis. Ojars was a member of the United Lincoln Latvian EV Lutheran Church. He was employed at the Nebraska Dept. of Roads for 39 years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Austra (Pusplatais) Rutmanis, brother and sister-in-law, Valdis and Sherri (Dunn) Rutmanis; sons and daughters in law, Kevin and Gina Rutmanis, L.A. California, Sandris and Pamela Rutmanis, Unadilla, Edvards Rutmanis, Lincoln. Grandchildren, Krista, Maija, Sarma and Ethan Rutmanis, Great-grandchildren, Sylvia and Harper, Nephews Darren and Shawn Rutmanis; and many relatives in Latvia. Preceded in death by parents and sister Daina.
A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, September 9th at 11:00 AM at the Latvian Social Hall, 33rd & C St., Lincoln.
