Norma Ruth (Bornemeier) Roeder, Born March 15, 1916 passed away on April 5, 2018. Born in Murdock, Nebraska to Martin and Martha (Brauchle) Bornemeier. Graduated from Murdock High School in 1933. She attended the University of Nebraska, taught in rural Cass County schools for 4 years, and performed various clerk and bookkeeping jobs up to 1955 when she became the media buyer for Ayers, Swanson and Assoc. In 1962 she took the position of Media Director in the new Swanson, Sinkey, Ellis Advertising Agency where she worked until her retirement in 1977. Norma married Roscoe W. Roeder in October 1969. Over the next 27 years they were active volunteers, square dancers and enjoyed traveling until Roscoe’s death in 1996. Norma was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church, Saint Paul United Methodist Women and Saint Paul United Methodist Wesley Group. Past member of the Women’s Board of Bryan Hospital and a 26 year volunteer at Bryan Hospital.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe; parents and 3 siblings, Wayne, Jean and Dory. She is survived by the families of her siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Saint Paul United Methodist Women or donor’s favorite charity.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25th at Saint Paul United Methodist Church; 12th and M Street, Lincoln, NE.
