Obituary

Mary Kathryn (McKinney) Luebs

December 9, 1926 - February 7, 2018

Mary Kathryn (McKinney) Luebs

Mary Kathryn (McKinney) Luebs, 91, was born December 9, 1926 in Edgar, NE and passed away peacefully with family at her side on February 7, 2018, following a brief illness. Mary Kay would like to let you know that after many years of serving others as an R.N., live-in babysitter to her grandchildren, provider of love, advice, and wry commentary to her family and friends, and as the reluctant recipient of pet therapy from assorted cats and dogs over the years, her work here is done. She has been summoned to a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time in a place where there is no pain or suffering, no snow or cold or ice. Mary Kay’s new journey takes her to a comfy chair where she can watch Forensic Files and Judge Judy to her heart’s content, she can see and hear perfectly, her knees aren’t stiff and she can fit all manner of therapy pets in her lap. Sounds like Heaven, doesn’t it?!

Mary Kay is survived by daughter, Kathy (Steve) Hubbell; grandchildren, Matthew Hubbell of San Diego and Kira (Royce) Sheibal of Papillion; sister, Nova McCarty of Blacksburg, VA; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Florence McKinney; infant grandson, Michael James Hubbell; sisters, Roberta Hurlbert and Margaret Ellison.

Cremation, no services.

Memorials may be given to the Bryan Foundation for the Bryan College of Health Sciences general scholarship fund.
