Marsha Ann Richmond Glover

August 30, 1946 - June 1, 2018

Marsha Ann Richmond Glover

Marsha Glover passed to the loving arms of Jesus on June 1, 2018, surrounded by her family. Her two-year fight with cancer was over. She was a loving, caring and giving person who was a joy to all around her.

Marsha was born August 30, 1946 in Lincoln to Cecil and Maralyn Richmond. She and her twin sister, Mary Claire, spent their childhood in Curtis and then Beatrice, where they graduated from high school in 1964. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1968 with a degree in Secondary Education and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. On September 7, 1968 she married Bill Glover in Beatrice and began her nearly 50-year journey of happiness with him. They were blessed with two sons and five grandchildren. Bill’s work took him to many different locations and she made many friends along the way. She taught in Kearney while Bill was in Viet Nam and later at Valley Center, Kansas High School. When they lived in Washington, D. C., she was a congressional scheduler and gave capitol tours.

She was an active member of P.E.O. and served as President in both a Lincoln and Oklahoma City chapter. For many years she served as President of her sorority’s House Corporation Board. She was also a member of the Bennet American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid sports fan, which began as she watched her sons’ participation in many activities. Her greatest pleasure in life was being with her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She enjoyed having coffee with her friends.

Her parents, Cecil and Maralyn Richmond, precede Marsha in death. She is survived by her husband Bill, her sister Mary Claire (Randy) Hagge of Winter Springs, Florida, sons Bill Jr (Michelle) and John (Lisa), grandchildren, Morgan, Wylie, Hannah, Alex, and Emilie.

A celebration of her life will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Lincoln, on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Roper and Sons Mortuary, 4300 O Street, Lincoln NE 68510. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Chapter DX, P.E.O., Alpha Xi Delta, Rho Chapter Building Association, or Saint Paul United Methodist Church.
