Lynne K. Rustad

April 26, 1948 - August 4, 2017

Lynne K. Rustad

Lynne K. Rustad, born April 26, 1948, in South Carolina, died August 4, 2017, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 69. Lynne is survived by her husband of 27 years, Elliott; son, Zac (Jess); and step-children Todd (Amy) Rustad and Ann (Matt) Baxa.

Lynne’s unrelenting dedication and strong work ethic made her successful at all she did. For 17 years, she served the community by helping families find their dream homes as a realtor for HOME Real Estate and Woods Bros Reality, becoming one of the top producers in the entire area.

Always wanting to help make special moments in people’s lives, Lynne opened Ellynne Bridal on December 18, 2004, to create an experience where brides would “always be treated like a princess.” The name coming from the combining of hers and her beloved husband’s names—Elliott and Lynne. Over the past 12 years, she created a successful business built upon providing a unique and special experience for brides preparing for their “big day.”

Lynne was a tremendous asset to the community and touched the lives of so many. An active member in the Republican party, she always believed that citizens needed to be involved in the process of governing their communities. Her many philanthropic endeavors are too numerous to list but some of those closest to her heart include the Child Advocacy Center, Lincoln Symphony Orchestra Guild, Cause for Paws, Rotary Club #14 and all things that helped improve the lives of children in the community.

A Visitation will take place Wednesday August 9, at 6:00 p.m., with a Rosary Service to begin at 6:30 p.m., at Roper & Sons, 4300 O St. Her funeral mass will be held Thursday August 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Cathedral of the Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd. with a reception to follow at the Country Club of Lincoln, 3200 S. 24th Street. All of the many lives she touched are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

The family asks that anyone wanting to show their appreciation for Lynne to please give in her name to the organizations she helped support and towards the fight to end cancer. A giving page, Lynne’s Love has been established with all donations to be used to support the causes Lynne cared about. Click here to make a donation.
