Louise Elaine Koehrsen, 73, of Lincoln, passed away November 6, 2017. Born July 5, 1944 in Princeton, NJ to Samuel W. and Evelene E. (Alexander) Strickland . Louise had many roles and loves in her life. She was a nurse and homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, horses, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Louise was an American history enthusiast and a master cook. She absolutely loved everything Christmas and decorating her home for the holiday. Louise maintained remarkable collections of historical books, ornate bells, Carnival glassware, Santa Clauses and seashells. Louise was a member of Southwood Lutheran Church, past member of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and a Doe in the Elks Club with her husband, Paul. Married in Yardville, NJ, Louise and Paul pursued careers in Christiansburg, VA, Elizabeth, CO before retiring and joining Kristi here in Lincoln.
Family members include her husband, Paul Ernest; daughter, Christine (Jeff) Liegl, all of Lincoln; son Paul Edward (Jennifer) Koehrsen of Berlin,MD; brother Edward (Roberta) Strickland, of Pagosa Springs, CO; grandchildren Logan(Ashley) Trauernicht and Jensen Trauernicht, Jackson and Eric Liegl and Mason Koehrsen; nieces, Leila and Jenessa Strickland; many other extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dwight.
Also celebrating Louise’s life is life-long friend and “sister” Barb Tangwall and her children Briana Newland and Brandon Newland.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Friday 11/10/17 at Southwood Lutheran Church, 4301 Wilderness Hill Blvd, Lincoln, Pastor Michael Ryan officiating.
