Janis Jaunzemis, 81, of Lincoln, passed away on November 17, 2017. Born September 15, 1936 to Kristaps and Zinaida (Michailovskis) Jaunzemis in Liepaja, Latvia. He came to the United States in 1950, U.S. Army Veteran, worked as a Draftsman for the USDA for Soil Conservation Service. Member of the United Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church, lifetime acolyte for the church, and member of Daugavas Vanagi Inc. He loved traveling and Sightseeing with his family.
Janis is survived by his sister, Valda Jaunzemis of Lincoln; and many other friends and loved ones. Preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday (11-25-17) at the United Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3300 C St. Lincoln. Burial at Wyuka Cemetery.
Visitation with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday (11-24-17) at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ St.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Church, or to the Daugavas Vanagi Inc.
