James W. Debus, 74, of Lincoln, NE passed away October 18, 2017. Born October 14, 1943 in Scottsbluff, NE to Walter and Mary Margie (Townley) Debus. U. S. Army Vietnam Veteran serving in Germany. Retired Engineer, Goodyear Plant for over 30 years.
He enjoyed working on airplanes, once building one in his garage. He continued building airplanes with his buddies after retirement which they entered in air races.
Family members include his son, Jason (Marian) Debus, Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Michelle Debus, Petaluma, CA; granddaughter, Isabella Wunschel; sisters, Sylvia Love, Morrill, NE, Cherly Kopestsky, Sidney, NE, and Valerie Hernadez, Garden City, KS; 11 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, sister, JoAnn Stafford.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday (10-21-17) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. 10:00 a.m. committal service on Monday (10-23-17) in Mitchell City Cemetery, Mitchell, NE.
