Gregory Alan Brown, 37, of Lincoln passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at his home. He was born March 13, 1981, in Ft. Campbell, KY, to Julie Adams and Walter Brown Jr. Greg was Master Sergeant (E8) with the Nebraska Army National Guard. He also valued his time spent mentoring officer candidates at OCS, and serving as Platoon Sergeant of the 1075th Transportation Company in Sidney, NE. He was also employed with Pacific Life Insurance in Omaha. He participated in Toastmasters. Greg had many talents and hobbies; some of them being range shooting, video games, sci-fi movies, enjoying a variety of music, and visiting Florida. He had many loves including his children and family, his fiancée Dena Bock, and their fur babies: Kylo Ren, Rey, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Twinkie, Boots and Zephyr, as well as his large aquarium of aqua babies.
Family members include his fiancée Dena; his mother Julie Adams (Allen Gabel); sister Randee Long (Joe Franklin); his children Gavin Alan and Keira Gracyn Brown and their mother Jessica Brown; nephews Spencer and Ethan Franklin; all of Lincoln; his father Walter Brown (Dorothea), of Lompoc, CA; grandparents Kathryn and Bernard Adams, of Ponca, NE; aunts and uncles, Brenda (Pat) McCoy, of Omaha and Bernard (Penny) Adams, of Virginia; future parents-in-law Ken (Diann) Bock of Ravenna, NE; numerous extended family and friends.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3128 ‘S’ Street, Lincoln, with family greeting friends one hour prior. Visitation will be held at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ Street, from 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home on Sunday.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3128 ‘S’ Street, Lincoln with Fr. Lee Jirovsky presiding. Interment will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.at the Omaha National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
Memorials may be designated to any organization designed to help set-up a veteran with a fur companion.
