Eugene A. “Gene” Zach, 86, Lincoln, died October 3, 2017. Born December 1, 1930 near Wilber, NE to Charles and Augusta (Kasparek) Zach. Gene grew up on a farm near Wilber. He served in the United State Army during the Korean War and is a member of the American Legion Post #101 of Wilber. He became a carpenter and homebuilder and owned his own business.
Family members include his wife, Mary Ann; children and spouses, Roy and Christine Zach, David and Debbie Zach, Denver, CO, Barb and Jack Burke; grandsons, Cody Grape, Joshua Zach, Denver; step-grandson, Ryan Taylor; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Phyllis Zach, Franklin and Lois Zach, Mary Ann Zach, Helen Zach, all of Wilber; nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Murphy. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert, Charles and Eddie, sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Robert Kellogg.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (10-9-17) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street with Pastor Mark Brunott officiating. Prior private interment.
Memorials in lieu of flowers to First Evangelical Free Church or Capital City Humane Society.
Visitation with family present from 4-7 pm Sunday at Roper and Sons.
