Edward Lewis “Lew” Cooley, Jr, 94, of Lincoln passed away July 14, 2018. He was born on February 26, 1924, rural Waverly, NE to Edward Lewis and Edith Sally (Landis),Cooley, Sr. At an early age Lew worked on the farm and also raised turkeys. Later on Lew worked as an accountant for 27 years with Goodyear, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge #80, the Nebraska Turkey Growers Association and was a past member of the Walton School Board.
Family members include his sister Betty Jean Malmleaf of Largo, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris, sisters Marian, Margaret, Lucile, and Kathryn, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Doris and John Knerr.
Celebration of Lew’s Life will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Roper and Sons Funeral Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ St.
Visitation will be held One hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Richard Randolph, Ph.D. officiating.
