Dorothy M. Nielsen, 93, Lincoln, died Monday, March 5, 2018. Born Loup City (4/17/1924) to Ralph and Elizabeth (Anderson) Johnson. Formerly employed by Loup City Public Schools, Ord Public Schools, U.S. Dept. of the Army, U.S. Dept of Labor, U.S. Veterans Administration, and retired in 1990 from the Nebraska School Activities Association after 27 years as Office and Business Manager. Member: Westminster Presbyterian Church, Eastmont Towers Foundation Board of Directors. Former member Fifty-Fifty Club, volunteer BryanLGH Hospital Towers.

Survivors: Son, Gregory Nielsen, Lincoln; daughter, Cynthia and son-in-law, Brad Buethe, Odessa, Florida; grandsons, Dr. David (Valerie) Buethe, Douglas (Dayna) Buethe, Daniel (Kaley) Buethe, Lars (Amanda) Nielsen; granddaughter, Marne (David) Boardman; great grandsons, Luka Nielsen, Brody Buethe, Wyatt Buethe, Bowen Buethe, Abram Buethe, Bentley Buethe, Miles Buethe; great granddaughters, Nora Nielsen and Drea Buethe. Preceded in death by husband, Donald D. Nielsen on August 28, 2001 and her parents.

Services will be held 1:00pm Friday, March 9, 2018 at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel 3950 Hohensee Drive (40th & Yankee Hill Road)

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Dorothy wanted everyone to think of their loved ones and in lieu of flowers, memorials could be directed by you to the cause of your choice.
