Donald James Ray, born November 24, 1927 to Joe and Emma (Hansen) Ray in Tilden, NE, passed away August 26th, 2018. Wife, Joy passed away in 1972 and Donald married Shirley J. Roberson in 1973.
Donald is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Monte (Sue) Ray and Lonnie; daughter, Donna (Richard Schidler); stepdaughters, Lori (Richard) Townsend and Linda Schultz; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joy and son, Rodney.
Visitation will be at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln, on Thursday, August 30th from 2-8 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM.
Funeral service is Friday, August 31st, at 11:00 AM at Evangelical United Lutheran Church, 5945 Fremont Street, Lincoln. Burial at Oak Creek Cemetery, Raymond, NE.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church or to the family for future designation.
