Don Alan “Dyke” Vandertook, 92, Lincoln, passed away August 18, 2018. Born March 27, 1926 in Panama, NE to Alco and Jennie (Kroon) Vandertook. WWII U. S. Army Veteran. Retired Farmer and Auctioneer. Dyke started the Vandertook Auction Company more than 40 years ago.
Dyke was a member of the Panama Presbyterian Church, Hickman American Legion Post #105, served on the Norris School Board and Panama Cemetery board. He was past president of Nebraska Auctioneers Association.
Family members include his wife Arlene; daughters Kerry (Tom) Dull, Indiana and Donita (Brad) From, Roca; son Brian (Diann) Schmidt, Panama; brother-in-law Melvin Lesoing, Hickman; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Lorraine.
Cremation/Private Family Service. Celebration of Life, Sunday, August 26th, 1-5 pm at Panama Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials to Norris School Educational Foundation, Panama Presbyterian Church or Panama Cemetery.
