DeLila Yvonne Reynoldson

June 28, 1950 - June 15, 2018

DeLila Yvonne Reynoldson

DeLila Reynoldson, of Lincoln, passed away on June 15, 2018. She was born in Crawford, NE on June 28, 1930. DeLila was the youngest of six daughters born to Henry and Elizabeth Siekert. She graduated from Crawford High School and taught rural elementary school in the area. She married her high school sweetheart, Don Reynoldson, on August 26, 1951.

Don and DeLila began their married life in Amarillo, TX, where Don was stationed in the USAF before returning to the Crawford area. They raised their two children on a farm/ranch operation southwest of Crawford. DeLila was a wonderful homemaker who also helped run the family farm. Her many talents included sewing, baking, and providing a happy home where friends and family were always welcome. In 1995, Don and DeLila built a home in Lincoln to be closer to their children and grandchildren but continued to enjoy their ranch in Crawford on a regular basis.

DeLila’s most treasured accomplishment was her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She enjoyed attending every sport, dance, or academic event of her children or grandchildren.

One of the many ways DeLila displayed her love was the annual Christmas cookie decorating tradition she started with her grandchildren. This became a highlight of the season. Holidays were a joy to her and she enjoyed celebrating all of them with family.

Don and DeLila had many close friends with whom they shared their lives. Some go back to childhood. Several of their special friends shared many great travel experiences.

DeLila is survived by her devoted husband, Don, of 67 years; daughter, Sue Reynoldson; son, Bob (Cheryl); grandchildren: Jill Reynoldson (Mark Smith), Amy (Zach) Bartels, Erin Reynoldson, Matt Reynoldson; great grandchildren: Austin and Jackson Bartels; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service to celebrate DeLila’s life will be held at 1:00 on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mark’s Methodist Church or UNMC for Parkinson’s Research.
